Welcome to the home of Saco River Hunting Retriever Club!

Saco River HRC was formed in 1999 by a group of local enthusiasts who admired the brilliant abilities of our working retrievers.  Located in the Southern part of Maine with an approximate membership of 25, we are one of two HRC affiliated clubs in the State.  Saco River HRC members bring a diverse level of experience and knowledge to the field.  This diversity helps us balance the goals of our long time enthusiasts, while encouraging a supportive medium for our beginners.   Be sure to check our Calendar of Events for a listing of upcoming hunt test events and training days. 

Many of our members enjoy competing in Hunt Test programs available through AKC (American Kennel Club), HRC (Hunting Retriever Club), and NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever Association), which are hosted by local and regional clubs.  In addition to the retrieving breeds, HRC tests are also open to Irish Water Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, and Standard Poodles.
